07848: Here are two vary large pieces that were originally used as bed-hangings on a ciel de lit.The off-white background is done in picotage which is a ground of tiny printed dots. The large-scale foreground motif is rendered in the favorite colors of the famous Beautiran factory. Each piece is 1.5 fabric widths wide and has a narrow matching floral trim on one edge. 07530: There are three pieces of this percale weight French toile with a seldom-seen pattern. The background is off-white. The foreground motif includes branches of flowering fruit trees, bamboo and fluttering songbirds. The bamboo fronds are printed in a fainter shade, which gives a three-dimensional look to the fabric. Lovely! One piece measures 32"W x 125"H. The other two pieces are 1.5 fabric widths and measure 47"W (seam) x 118"H. 07824: There are three pieces of this unused medium-weight cotton from the late 19th century. The background is a deep brown-black, an almost black shade. The beautifully rendered foreground motif of poppies and roses is in deep, muted tones of green and red with highlights of ivory. The quality of the engraving and printing is exceptional. 07632: Here is a very pretty piece of antique mattress ticking in deep red with candy stripes in off-white and rose. 07178: Here is a heavy, luxurious cotton velvet table cover (tapis de table) from the early 20th century. The center is a deep carnelian red (darker than the photo) and the printed border design, of chestnut leaves and nuts, is in muted fall tones. This kind of table cover would have been used on a side table in a living room or parlor. The square was often used on a round or oval table. 06219: Here are two pieces of unused, printed linen from the end of the 19th century. The background is an off-white with a lavender-purple all-over vermicelli pattern. The foreground motif, in deep ochre shades, is of large circular cartouches festooned with garlands and featuring central bouquets of ragged tulips and lilies-of-the-valley. 07826: This is a pair of rarely-seen French antique chenille woven drapes in near-perfect condition. This type of drapery was created on a special loom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Because of the special weaving process, this kind of drapery was expensive and was purchased by only the wealthiest homes. This pair has a geometric kilim-inspired rug pattern done in deep tones and the darkest red (the reds are much more muted and darker than they appear in the photo.) 06406: There are two large pieces of this gently-faded, romantic floral cotton print with an off-white background. The fabric is a medium-weight sturdy cotton. Large oval cartouches of muted yellow roses surround bouquets of pale mauve-y roses. The cartouches are intertwined, making for a unified and serene pattern. 07158: Here are two pieces of medium-weight French barkcloth from the late 19th century. Barkcloth originated in France during the 19th century and is called coton gratté. The background is ivory. The foreground motif of packed flowers, bouquets and vines is done in monochromatic shades of tan and beige and has accents in French blue. This fabric has muted color, but overall, is neutral in feel. It would work well in many interiors. Each piece measures 31"W x 77"H. Ca. 1890 $130.00 USD per piece

04598: Here is an early 20th century lined velvet lambrequin. A wide view can be seen <HERE>. Lambrequins were popular during most of the 19th century and were characterized by long sides on a traditional valance. The almost cloud-like patterns in the velvet are done in several tones of greens and golds. The entire piece is lined in an autumn- gold cotton.
