French antique floral toile 08312: Here is a very long, narrow piece of early 20th century red and white floral toile. A wide view can be seen <HERE.> This piece was gathered along one edge when I bought it and had likely been a flounce for a bed skirt. The gathering has been removed and this very long piece is ready to be reworked for your projects. 19"W x 220"L. Ca. 1900

french antique hand-quilted valance

04537: This is a very long, hand-quilted bed valance or lambrequin with a wave-shaped bottom edge. The French call this an autour de lit which means 'around the bed'; it would hang around the top of a canopy bed. The background is a deep madder dye grape color and the leaf and flower motif is in off-white. The white hand-quilting stitches are featured as seen <HERE.> A wide view of three of the eight scallops can be seen <HERE.> Measuring 186"W x 30"H, the width is made up of three  large sections that are hand-stitched together. They could be easily separated, if desired and used as valances on windows or reworked into cushions or pillows.  Excellent condition. Ca. 1850

French antique linen table cover 08266: This is a heavy piece of rustic linen with a woven diamond pattern design. This rectangle would have been used to as a small cover for a wooden kitchen table in a 1920s French home. Measuring 29"W x 38"L, it could again grace a kitchen table or be reworked into sumptuous pillows or or pillow shams. Ca. 1920

french antique fabric 05362 05362: There are two pieces of this Napoleon III-era percale weight cotton print fabric. The background is black and the large-scale foreground motif of wind-blown poppies and marguerites is in muted autumn tones. This pattern is much more beautiful than the picture shows. Each piece measures 31"W x 45" L. Ca. 1880

French antique table cover 06954: Here is a heavy woven cotton table cover from the era of Napoleon III that would have been used on a side table in the parlor or salon. Taking design inspiration from kilim carpets, this reversible table cover is woven in dark blue, soft red and beige. Close-ups can be seen <HERE> and <HERE> and the reverse can be seen <HERE.> 56"W x 60"H plus 3" knotted fringe. There is some color variation from age and a couple of faint spots. Ca. 1880

05994: Here are three pieces of medium-weight cotton fabric from the late 19th century. The wider stripes, measuring 7.5" wide,  have a black background. The foreground motif is of plums hanging from meandering branches, interspersed with branches of coral and tiny flowers. Coral branches were popular 19th century motifs and were often paired with various botanical motifs. Each piece measures 31"W x 50"H. Ca. 1890

07360: Here are two pieces of percale weight printed cotton textile from the Art Nouveau period. The background is a deep muted cherry red. The large-scale foreground motif of undulating stylized poppies is done in a purplish-red wine shade with off-white accents. Each piece measures 31"W x 62"H. Ca. 1900

06160:There are two pieces of this wonderful Art Nouveau stylized floral printed cotton fabric. The background is a very muted Bordeaux shade. The undulating peony pattern is done in shades of rose with soft spring greens for the leaves. The stylized floral motif has tiny flowerettes on the edges of the stamens. This is a very pretty color scheme and would coordinate well with many interiors. Each piece measures 32"W x 88"L. Ca. 1890

french vintage ticking fabric 07596: Here is a large piece of French vintage ticking fabric in a very muted tones of faded terra cotta and faded clay. This kind of ticking comes from the Alsace region of France and was originally the covering for featherbeds. All tickings have been freshly washed and ironed. There are a couple of faint spots. 120"W (2 seams) x 33"H. Ca. 1950

07075: There are four pieces of this muted floral from the late 19th century. The background is a soft, medium, very calm green. The foreground motif is of daylilies and tiny posies, floating in a random pattern. This motif is one that shows elements of 19th century textile design as well as hints of 20th century design. The colors are soft and almost neutral and would work well in many decors. Each piece measures 34"W x 55"H. Ca. 1900

03776: Here are three pieces of a rarely-seen 1920s cotton velvet with a dramatic color scheme. The background is a brightly-colored mélange of yellow, orange and tan squiggles. The foreground motif, of scattered maple leaves, is done in a muted blues. Each piece measures 46"W x 23"H.  (I have one very large piece available also. mid-century vintage fabric curtains 03488 03488: This is a set of vintage American curtains in a medium-weight cotton fabric with a lovely soft scrolling floral and acanthus pattern. There are two pairs of curtains plus a piece of unused yardage. Each panel of the two pairs of curtains measures 23"W x 70"H. The unused yardage measures 47"W x 100"L. Ca. 1940
