French antique ticking fabric 08760: This piece of French vintage ticking fabric has wide softly-faded deep red stripes that alternate with groups of multi-colored stripes. The multi-colored stripes include ombré tan, navy blue, rose and yellow. This nice piece of ticking measures 38"W x 70"L. Ca. 1930

05654: Here is a very striking pattern in an unusual color scheme. The background of this medium-weight cotton fabric is a brown-burgundy. The foreground motif of over-sized, stylized peonies, is in soft shades of rose and ivory. The effect is quite dramatic! This fabric has a warm glow and would work well in many interiors. There are two pieces, each measuring 32"W x 50"H. Late 19th century.

french antique toile fabric with roses 07527: Here are three large pieces of 19th century toile on a medium-weight cotton fabric with a creamy, off-white background. The large scale motif is of climbing roses and is rendered in a deep coffee brown with the two central roses measuring 7" across. A wider view can be seen <HERE> although the angle of the photo is off. Each piece measures 32"W x 54"L.  There are a few tiny holes. Ca. 1880

french antique textile 05538 05538: This is a piece of dramatic medium-weight cotton print fabric. The background is black with a fancy trellis motif that looks almost like lace. The foreground pattern is tan and ivory garlands forming classic cartouches around central bouquets of flowers, berries and leaves. This very large piece measures 31"W x 110"L. It has a couple of small holes. Ca. 1890

French filet valance 08515: This is a hand-knotted French filet valance or mantle cover with a crocheted edging and trim. french romantic vintage fabric 06450 06450: There are two pieces of this pretty medium weight soft cotton print fabric from the end of the 19th century. The background is off-white and has a very pale pink scrolling, all-over pattern. The foreground motif of very scattered rosebuds is done in shades of pink and olive. These pieces are in good condition, although each one has at least one very pale bluish spot. Each piece measures 34"W x 84"H.

07360: Here are two pieces of percale weight printed cotton textile from the Art Nouveau period. The background is a deep muted cherry red. The large-scale foreground motif of undulating stylized poppies is done in a purplish-red wine shade with off-white accents. Each piece measures 31"W x 62"H. Ca. 1900

french antique textile with roses 05620 05620: Here are three single pieces of a medium-weight French antique cotton fabric. The background is a very deep Prussian blue; the foreground motif is romantic pale pink climbing roses and rosebuds with muted neutral-toned leaves. For a touch of whimsy, there is a small bee buzzing near the flowers! A close-up of the bee can be seen <HERE.>The bumblebee, symbolizing industry, immortality and resurrection, was one of the symbols used by the French Empire. Each panel measures 32"W x 75"H. Ca. 1880

vintage fabric 08086 08086: There are two huge pieces of this vintage mid-20th century American printed cotton fabric that has never been used. The background is a very deep forest green.  The foreground motif is a large-scale meandering trillium, which is a rarely-seen floral pattern. Marked in the selvedge, "Guaranteed sunfast, tubfast and Sanforized." Perfect condition. 48"W x 108" long.

french antique tapestry 05134 05134: This early 20th-century tapestry has a joyous title, 'La Bonne Chanson' (The Good Song). View title <HERE.> Portrayed in the picture is a group of men in 17th century dress, gathered in front of a huge wine barrel, singing and accompanied by a lute. A woman watches them from the staircase and a cat watches from its perch on the wine barrel. There is also a bird in a cage. Micro-views can be seen <HERE>, <HERE> and <HERE.> This machine-woven piece is marked on the back 'Made in France', which means it was originally made for export. View mark <HERE.> The colors have aged beautifully on to muted, quiet tones. Good condition. 39"W x 58"H.  Early 20th century.

French vintage red ticking 08782: Here is an unusual French vintage ticking with broad tent stripes in cherry red and rose. This dramatic ticking would pair well with many floral patterns as well as on its own. The actual colors are not as bright as the photo appears. This kind of red ticking comes from the Alsace region in eastern France. All tickings have been freshly washed and ironed. 50"W x 68"H. Ca. 1920
