05654: Here is a very striking pattern in an unusual color scheme. The background of this medium-weight cotton fabric is a brown-burgundy. The foreground motif of over-sized, stylized peonies, is in soft shades of rose and ivory. The effect is quite dramatic! This fabric has a warm glow and would work well in many interiors. 07527: Here are two large pieces of 19th century toile on a
medium-weight cotton fabric with a creamy, off-white background. The
large scale motif is of climbing roses and is rendered in a deep
coffee brown with the two central
roses measuring 7" across. A wider view can be seen
<HERE> although the
angle of the photo is off. Each piece measures 32"W x 54"L.
There are a couple of small tears at the selvedge, likely from

05538: This is a piece of dramatic and
sophisticated medium-weight cotton print fabric. The background is black
with a coffee-brown, fancy trellis motif that looks almost like
lace. The foreground pattern is of tan and ivory garlands forming
classic cartouches around central bouquets of flowers, berries and
leaves. This very large piece measures 31"W x 116"L.
It has a

08167: There are two pieces of this medium-heavy dramatic
French cotton
floral print textile. The large-scale, all-over tropical design includes
sultry daylilies, dahlias and huge elephant ears. The main color is
a warm ivory that is complemented by muted fall colors. Very

06450: There are two pieces of this pretty medium weight cotton
print fabric from the end of the 19th century. The background is
off-white and has a very pale pink scrolling, all-over pattern. The
foreground motif of very scattered rosebuds is done in shades of
pink and olive. These pieces are in good condition, although each
one has at least one very pale bluish spot. Each piece measures 34"W

08293: Here is an unusual vintage French ticking fabric with rose and faded olive ombré stripes. This kind of ticking comes from the Alsace region of
France and was originally the covering for featherbeds. All tickings

effect. The background is just off-white and the undulating
climbing floral pattern of full-blown poppies is done in chocolate,

07454: Here is a piece of hand-quilted toile from the early
1800s from the Alsace region in northeast France. Originally part of
a valance or window treatment, this piece has a scalloped lower edge
and is entirely hand-stitched. Perfect for over a doorway or to

French antique cotton fabric. The background is a very deep midnight blue and the foreground motif is of romantic pale pink climbing roses and
rosebuds with muted neutral-toned leaves. For a touch
of whimsy, there is a small bee buzzing near the flowers! A

05134: This early 20th century machine-made tapestry has a joyous
title, 'La Bonne Chanson' (The Good Song). View title
<HERE.> Portrayed in the picture is a group of men in 17th century
dress, gathered in front of a huge wine barrel, singing and
accompanied by a lute. A woman watches them from the staircase and
a cat watches from its perch on the wine barrel. There is also a
