Antique silk embroidery southest asia 05344: This is a rare horizontal banner done in pale aqua silk with a black silk border. A portion of the banner can be seen <HERE.> I bought this piece in France, but it is originally from Southeast Asia. The intricate embroidery is done in silk thread with stunning detail in the faces and in the texture of the clothing. Starting from the left side of the banner at the head of the procession, there are six images that show the entire width <HERE.>   Beautiful!  80"W x 14"H. Ca. 1920

french vintage needlepoint 07406 and 07407
07406 and 07407: Here are two large French antique needlepoint canvases that were obviously created to be used in the same room. With variations on the same theme, these pieces were likely destined to be a chair seat cover and an ottoman cover.
They can be purchased separately or together. Both canvases are unused and in near-perfect condition. They are worked in a fine-quality wool yarn with 9 stitches to the inch. The background is a deep chocolate brown.

07406, pictured at the top, is the larger of the two, with the worked area measuring 25"W x 23.25"H. The canvas is slightly larger. An enlargement can be seen <HERE> and a micro-view can be seen <HERE.>

On the piece pictured at the bottom, item 07407, the worked area measures 21.75"W x 17.25"H. An enlargement can be seen <HERE.> In addition to being used as upholstery, these pieces would be wonderful made into elegant cushions. Ca. 1900

$155.00 USD for the larger piece and $140.00 USD for the smaller
french antique toile fabric 07530 07530: This is an exceptionally lovely percale-weight French toile fabric with a rarely-seen pattern. The background is just off-white while the  foreground motif includes branches of flowering fruit trees, bamboo and fluttering songbirds done in a muted wine tone. The bamboo fronds are printed in a fainter shade, which gives a three-dimensional look to the fabric. Micro views are <HERE> and <HERE.> Each piece measures 47"W (seam) x 50"H.  Ca. 1870

$185.00 USD per piece

vintage french fabric 06383 06383: This exotic percale-weight cotton fabric has an inky-black background and a foreground motif that is a mixture of feathery ferns and full-blown summer roses! The delicate fern fronds are printed in several shades of green which gives them a realistic appearance. The roses are in muted reds and ivory. This design is well-balanced and beautifully printed. A micro-view can be seen <HERE.> This is the last piece I have and it measures 32.5"W x 50"L. There are several small holes. Ca. 1880

vintage printed linen 06673 06674: This is a piece of this medium-weight vintage American printed linen fabric. The background is a pale natural linen shade, while the foreground motif of large roses in a basket surrounded by scattered flowers is done in watercolor-like clear shades of pink, rose and green. french antique textile 06895 06895: There are two single fabric width pieces of this good percale-weight cotton print from Provence. The background is a creamy off-white. The lyrical floral motif of inter-twining bouquets is in muted shades of reds and golds and moves up the fabric on a diagonal. Fine tendrils of fronds and leaves float around the bouquets. Each piece measures 31"W x 100"H. These pieces are in overall good condition, but do have some slight color variation and a couple of small spots. The price reflects the flaws. Much prettier than the photo. Ca. 1900

$100.00 USD per piece
french antique fabric 07128 07128: Here are two pieces of a percale-weight cotton print fabric from the late-19th century. Arranged in a stripe pattern, the classic motif is of climbing rose vines bearing full-blown roses. The colors are in deep tones of forest green and rose-red and the pattern has been printed to look like embroidery. This is a dramatic motif and is prettier than the picture shows. 30"W x 48"H.

$70.00 USD per piece
early french antique fabric 07248 07248: There are four large pieces of this percale-weight cotton print from the early 19th century. The textile companies discovered chrome yellow dye in about 1830 and fabrics with bright yellow backgrounds became very popular. Most were printed with red dye overlay on the yellow background. This one is unusual with the complicated scrolling acanthus leaf pattern that has the subtle shading and three-dimensional effect created by tiny lines. There is some slight color variation in a couple of the pieces. 28.5"W x  52"L.  Ca. 1835
