vintage Roomaker toile 08315: Here are two large pieces of vintage Roomaker cotton toile print, inspired by French 18th century toiles de Jouy. This vat-dyed cotton has an off-white background and a lovely woodland scenic print of flowers and trees with an additional tiny scene depicting French women tending the grapevines. 43"W x 84"H. Overall good condition with a couple of small spots. Ca. 1960

french vintage red ticking fabric 08273
08273: Here is a very nice piece of French vintage ticking fabric in clear true red with ombré stripes in successive shades of khaki and tan. This kind of red ticking comes from the Alsace region of France and was originally the covering for featherbeds. All tickings have been freshly washed and ironed. This large piece has a couple of patches of lint so has been marked down. 42"W x 60"H Ca. 1920

French antique floral fabric 08262: Here is a pretty piece of a late 19th century cotton print with a charming motif of suspended baskets of flowers in basket-shaped cartouches. The pattern is a half-drop with rope and medallion motif between. The background is a creamy off-white and the foreground colors are muted. A micro view can be seen <HERE.> There are several small holes and one 2" spot, but still plenty of usable fabric.  32"W x 58"H.

07218: Here are four huge pieces of classically French percale-weight cotton fabric. The wide pale stripe has a delicate formal background with a foreground motif of cartouches and medallions filled with roses and floral vines. Micro-view <HERE.> Two pieces measure 32"W x 110"H. The two other pieces are double-wide, but slightly more faded and each has some spots.  These pieces measure 64"W (center seam) x 100"H. Ca. 1890

07262: This is a very large piece, but unfortunately, it is not in very sturdy condition. It has many weak spots and small holes, so could only be used as "background" decoration or for design inspiration. It would work very nicely inside the doors of a bookcase or behind the shelves of an armoire. The background is near-white. The meandering, climbing floral motif is done in a medium brown with accents of pale aqua. This large piece measures 62"W (seam) x 82"H. Ca. 1880

antique french fabric 07804 07804: Here are two pieces of beautifully designed and printed 19th century medium-weight fabric. The popularity of middle eastern rugs in that era inspired the French textile manufacturers to produce prints such as this one, incorporating rug designs and colors. The ombré shadings and the intricate background make this one of the nicer kilim prints. Each large piece measures 32.5"W x 46"H. Each piece has a few small pinholes and a couple of tiny holes. Ca. 1880

item 07474 07474: There are two very large pieces of this unused French vintage linen-cotton fabric from the 1930s. The background is a very soft maize. The small-scale foreground motif of meandering vines and nosegays is designed to mimic the the style of delicate 18th century block print and resist dye methods. The colors are subtle and capture the glow of the past. Each piece of new-old yardage measures 31.5"W x 180"L. Both pieces have been washed and ironed. Ca. 1930

The small pert flowers and buds are in a dark French blue with olive leaves. This was a very popular motif in that era and was produced in many different colors. item 07328 07328: There are four pieces of this percale weight cotton print fabric done with a classic French stripe. Although stripes were a perennial favorite in France, the color scheme of this pattern is unusual. The background is just off-white while the foreground motif of roses, bluebells and morning glories is done in neutral shades of gray and tan, giving a very calm aura to the fabric. romantic french antique fabric 06406 08411: Here are two pieces of faded, romantic French floral medium-weight cotton print fabric with an off-white background. The large ovals of muted yellow roses are surrounding bouquets of pale mauve-y roses. The ovals are intertwined, making for a unified and serene pattern. Each piece measures 45"W(seam) x 45"H. There are some small holes and a few places that have been darned, which is why these pieces are on discount.
