: This is a hand-quilted valance made of 19th century softly-faded cotton print.  The background is off-white with a fern motif in watery marine-blue.  The floral foreground motif of meandering vines is done in shades of brown, tan and ivory.  The backing is a plain cotton muslin.  The quilting stitches are in white thread.  A micro view can be seen <HERE>. This piece measures 76"W x 26"H.  One end of this piece is finished, the other end is a raw edge.  This could be used as a valance or would be lovely reworked into pillows or cushions. Late 19th century.

06642: This very unusual piece of mid-20th century French cotton has an almost New World or Latin feel to it.  The clear green background is the canvas for an array of stylized pottery in bright colors.  This piece measures 88"W (2 seams) x 29"H.  Ca. 1950

$19.00 USD

07262:  This is a very large piece, but unfortunately, it is not in very sturdy condition.  It has many weak spots and small holes, so could only be used as "background" decoration or for design inspiration.  It would work very nicely inside the doors of a bookcase or behind the shelves of an armoire.  The background is near-white.  The meandering, climbing floral motif is done in a medium brown and has accents of pale aqua.  This large piece measures 62"W (seam) x 82"H.  Ca. 1880

$75.00 USD

04723: This pretty piece of corded silk-like fabric is a blend of cotton-rayon.  Heavy weight and suitable for cushions or small upholstery projects, this plaid is done in two shades of green and a pale rose. 17"W x 190"L (just over 5 yards).  There are a few small holes, but plenty of good cloth.  Ca. 1930

$40.00 USD

05802:  Here is a woven piece that would have originally been made for covering a seat or seat back.  The background is a soft tan-beige and the central floral and bird motif is in bright shades of rose and blue mixed with brown.  A micro view can be seen <HERE> and the back can be seen <HERE>. This piece measures 27"W x 26"H with the pattern section measuring about 19" across.  Ca. 1920

$45.00 USD

07474:  There are three large pieces of this unused French antique linen-cotton from the 1920s. This fabric has all the delicacy and charm of the 18th century printed florals that inspired it.  The background is a very soft maize.  The smaller-scale foreground motif of meandering vines and nosegays is designed to mimic the the style of 18th century block print and resist dye methods.  The colors are subtle and capture the glow of the past.  Each piece of new-old yardage measures 31.5"W x 180"L.  Ca. 1920

$205.00 USD per piece

item 07474

05604:  There are three single fabric widths pieces of this 'oh-so-french' medium weight cotton print.  The pale, wider stripes have an off-white background with bouquets of climbing roses in a muted shade of terra cotta and the narrow, pale stripes have tiny garlands of flowers.  The contrasting stripes are in a gray-green faux damask print.  The soft, calm tones will work well in many decors.  Each piece measures 31"W x 104"H.  Ca. 1890

$45.00 USD per piece

05670
:  This very pretty Art Nouveau pattern has a tone-on-tone background motif of garlands and acanthus in a very pale, warm neutral tan.  The large foreground motif of stylized flowers is in white, brown and a hint of grape.  Overall, this motif is neutral in tone and would work well in many varied interiors. 51"W x 92"H.  Some minor mold spotting is evident. Ca. 1910

$55.00 USD

item 05668

05683:  This is a large piece of percale weight toile with an off-white background. One and a half fabric-widths wide, this piece was probably originally a curtain panel.  The foreground motif, done in a deep burgundy shade, is of pretty songbirds fluttering between branches of roses and fruit trees.  This piece has several small holes plus a tear right at the seam line, but there is still good yardage for reworking.  57"W (seam) x 100"H.  Ca. 1900

$90.00 USD

item 05683

04207:  Here is a medium-heavy cotton with a pebbly finish that resembles barkcloth, although this fabric is softer.  The background is a very pale ecru and has a tone-on-tone lacy architectural motif that includes heart shapes, seashells and acanthus.  The foreground motif of scattered flowers and nosegays is rendered in muted shades of brick and tan.  33"W x 86"H.  Ca. 1900

$55.00 USD per piece

05191: There are two single fabric width pieces of this unusual Art Nouveau print.  The fabric is a medium weight corded cotton with an ombré and resist pattern background in a soft taupe.  The softly rounded flowers and buds are in shades of muted persimmon and pumpkin.  Each piece measures 31"W x 82"H.  Ca. 1910

$55.00 USD per piece

Ca. 1950

$45.00 USD
